Ok heres the deal I need to get some better actinic supplement going right now I have a standard 2 bulb 36 watt t-5 in there. I do have 2 65 watt pc ballasts which i can use until i get some spare cash flow going. I know pc is old school but these should be fine on a 40 gallon which is 18" deep. all of my sps are no more than 9 inches from the top of the tank, and my lights are 6" from the top of the water. Now these would be purley actinic i have 2 175watt MH. Any thoughts

should be fine for just actinics,just make sure they are 460nm not 420.

I have 420nm and they are MUCH whiter than the 460nm.To me it's not a true actinic but more like a 20K spectrum bulb,you get some fluorescence color pop from the corals but nothing like the 460 does.redfishbluefish said:
That site I told you about has several PC bulbs,and if you need differant connectors(pin base) they have those too,under DIY parts..
re-contact them and they will tell you were a dist is of that bulb,or maybe cry a bit and they may send you a bulb(s).They will just put you thru to a sales rep.Good luck ;D
