Pico 5g

Hey everyone,

So I just got back into the hobby (bittersweet). A friend of mine that I got into the hobby was giving away a 5g with stand, as well as the majority of the hardware, so I thought why not? I’m not gona spend much on it (should’ve known better). Started running this tank around March, and so far this is the outcome.

My goodness you packed that little tank. Quite impressive especially for such a new tank.

Thanks David! This tank is definitely taking off pretty quick. I guess I was able to pack it due to finding the smallest frags possible of the corals I liked. But I have a 30g I’m trying to set up, so I’ll have a back up tank for any of the corals that outgrow this one or use this as a frag tank, hah.

Just a quick update, I just added this pink Goni, green hammer, and acan a few days ago. Waiting on a magnetic rock ledge for pico tanks to add so I can glue the green and pink goni’s to it.

So I just got in my magnetic rock from Nanorox and it looks great, and perfect size for the tank. Being that most magnetic ledge / frag rocks are quite big. Here’s a pic. Hopefully now I can really keep my hands out the tank and let the corals do its thing and fill in.

Initially I thought 'Wow, that's small, even for a 5g', but it works really well and balances the tank nicely. All looks great.

Watch the Xenia. The stuff will spread by spore and take over the entire tank. Relatively quickly. If you don't want a Xenia specific tank, I'd get it out of there ASAP.

Thanks Mark_C! Even if I have the Xenia’s on it’s own separate rock? I made its own island specifically so it doesn’t spread like wild fire.
