What I can see there looks a lot like a galaxea. Does it look like the coral in that link to you? If it is Galaxea, it doesn't really grow like a cap (plating), but more of an encrusting (like Hydnophora). Galaxea is an aggressive stinging coral that needs lots of room for it's nightly escapades where the stingers come out in long sweeping strings that sting anything nearby.

Or a New Year's Eve hat. It could be either. ;D

Kind of looks like baby torch coral but I'm sticking to the hat theory ::)
 
thats what it is its galaxea someone sold me a 6x6 inch piece for $10 so I fragged a couple of small pieces off anyone interested in some we could trade (zoas, cap, shrooms ::) digis) thnks John
