I have a great looking powder blue that is going through QT, I orginally purchased it to add to my DT with the Achilles but thought better of it. Was planning on selling it but now my 5 yr old daughter has fallen in love with it. I dont want to add it to DT. But was considering adding it to my Frag tank which only has a yellow tang. Both are 3" inches and were in QT together till last week. What are the thoughts on this? Only fish will be those two in that tank. with a wrasse added later for any possible worms.....

I know i should sell... but it would break my daughters heart

Look may not be the 'right' advice or the 'best' advice but I say give it a try. I have a Yellow and a Powered Brown in my 54g tank and both are over a year old. My advice is keep a close eye on them and the first sign of issues then you think about going a different route. Again just my thoughts

Sell the kid, keep the fish!

The issue with tangs is that they need the open swimming space. Now I say that having two zebrasomas (which shouldn't be together), in a five foot tank. So take my advice for what it's worth.
