Pressure Locking Baffles

Not sure if this has ever been posted.. It's been out for a while now, randomly found it from googling.

Anyone ever do this?

I just did it to my 29 gallon sump, works pretty awesome once all the water is in there so their is equal force pushing against the acrylic.

I'm probably going to put some egg crate in on some areas to give it more support, also need to fix some baffles, little to high, I'll show pictures in like two days when i get the 90 up and running.

question though, if i have a 18 high sump, how high should my highest baffle be with a 90 gallon bow oceanic tank. Right now I have 13 inches, and my brother said it should be smaller.

I had done it on my old tank. I wound up adding silicone on the sides of the weather stripping anyway for extra support on the baffels. I had my highest baffel set to the hight that was optimal for my skimmer

If you want to just be able to mix and match materials, acrylic and glass in your sump or any other reef projects for that matter...

mr. sticky's underwater glue, I've used it many times to put baffles in sumps. I thought I'd use it to keep my pump from moving in my sump with a couple of pea sized drops and now I cant get my pump out lol, without fear of prying to hard and breaking the glass :p . Oh its reef safe too.

Hey Ralph/Dan - Inspiring technique! I have been thinking (for far too long) about how I could install in partial baffle over one that installed without teeth to help screen out macroagae and etc. I didn't feel like shutting the sump down for too long. This may just work.
Thanks!

It's ok, I might have done it wrong, But i just have egg crate bracing it in areas. works for me tho.
I'll get up pictures once i find a way to raise my skimmer up 1-2 inches. right now sump is in pieces.

Good find. A lot neater than my siliconed job. Maybe I'll try this method on my next sump (or be lazy and buy a pre-fabbed one).
