I have a swc skimmer on my 150g and the pump stopped working. its an octopus otp-2000 pump. The question i have is this.... are all the pumps the same? I heard octopus pumps are not good pumps but the pump mounts right to the skimmer. could i replace this pump with another name brand pump or do i have to use another otp-2000?

It depends on wether or not you want to modify the plumbing. If you're using it internally you would better off using a similar submersible pump. If you're using it externally you can use any pump you want.
