Question about Yellow Leather.

I have a yellow leather and the way I normally frag is with a sharp razor blade and slice a piece.

Although, I have noticed like 10 of these little round nubs, if I can call them that, hanging off the main stalk. Are these what the leather drops off to propagate itself? Anyone snip these off to frag their softie up?

Yup, those are "babies" that will eventually drop off the main colony. You can cut them off if you'd wish or just let them drop on their own.

Congratulations! Yer a daddy! If you let them drop off, they may drift into an area of your tank you cannot reach or worse, die cause they get under a rock and get stuck. If propagation if your goal, I would cut them off and attach them to something so you can easily reach them when you decide to sell them/trade them etc.

Any idea how big they get before drop. Want them to max out in size before cutting.

I couldn't say for sure. Some may drop now, some may not even drop at all and just grow into a new stalk giving you multiple arms. Gotta love this hobby! ;D

Thanks for the info. I'm going to go in there and chop off the larger ones and mount them up. See where it goes from there.
