re: sump & algae outbreak

I have green hair algae outbreak in my sump. a few questions: a) is it normal? b) what should I do about it? c) causes of it?

its been like that for about 2 weeks now. display tank is spotless and no signs of it inside. parameters seem to be fine.

I get some in my fuge the more chato grows the more it disapears seems like the pods like it when its there they are all over the glass
