I don't get why this is beginning to grow in my tank. rodi is comong out at 0 running phosban and carbon thru seperate reactors nitrates almost 0 regular water changes all other tests are good any ideas?
Hope this helps... ro/di testing 0 doesn't really mean your tank water is pure, you could still have phos and nitrates in the tank, have your water tested for phos from someone who has a meter this way you'll have a accurate result, reading should be .002 or lower which standard test kits don't go that low. also test for nitrates anything over .5 could also contribute to it's growth. It could be caused by many things, lighting (old bulbs), bio load, heavy feeding, lack of water changes, leaching phos from rocks and so on and so on.
That is cyano bacteria. How old is your tank? Cyano is very common in new tanks. You can siphon it out and try to increase the flow in the areas you see it.
I change it once a month turnover in terms of flow is high but mostly across the top. small powerheads midway but in the rocks. not alot across the bottom. how do I get it down there without blowing everything around? nutrients are not high as I stated in first post. not overfeeding I think? 14 fish 3 tangs, 2 anthius, manderine,2 blenneys 2 cardnals 2 chromis, 6 line and black/yellow damsel
