Refugium clean it or let it go

My refugium is starting to look a little dirty. I some live rock rubble cheato and some dragons breath growing in there, but the rock is staring to get covered in algae should I clean it or let it go I have some snails in there also

Is the refugeium in the sump or a seperate tank ?

In terms of cleaning. Either way let it be. You want all that algae and stuff to grow down there then in the display.


As for snails in the fuge. If it's in the sump take it out ASAP. Last thing you need is a snail in your return or skimmer pump. That can get very expensive

It's in the sump but thinking of doing a bigger remote refugium, thanks for the info I ll take the snail out didn't even think about it going into a pump
