Removing a bulkhead

Im having trouble removing a bulkhead that i need to adjust.Anyone have any tips or tricks they could lend me in getting this thing loose.

if the nut and washer are on the outside a large wrench will work but you have to be very careful, but if it's on the inside for that you need some luck
