Reusing a medicated tank? Yea or nay?

I have a spare tank that I have had since new that I used for a qt at one time.

I was thinking about turning it into a sump but have used meds in it in the past.

I have never used copper in it but did use a formalin/malachite med in it that turned the seals a nice shade of blue.

Tank has been scrubbed and soaked in white vinegar and has sat empty for a good 6 months now.

I hate to waste it and throw it out but dont want to use it if it is not a safe thing to do.

So what does everyone think?

Yea or Nay on using it safely for a sump?

Thanks

I say yay..Ive done it before and had no ill effects.Although Ive also used fishtanks that held reptiles in them too.And everyone said it wasnt "safe",but hec,I like livin on the edge...lol good luck in yr choice :)

For better or worst I always clean my QT with a little bleach and water and use it again. I never considered the concept of silicone holding onto any chems I use though.

Formalin isn't a chemical I would worry about reusing the tank over. Copper yes, but formalinnot so much.

Thats what I thought too..... with a good cleaning I thought it would be fine

but better to ask then to do something really stupid and pay for it later

After a soak in vineagar and water I would rinse and fill with RODI.

Let it soak for a day and test the TDS. If it goes up, repeat the rinse and fill with RODI until the TDS doesn't change. then I would use it.

Thats a pretty good idea too :D If the TDS doesnt change you could always mix up a batch of salt in there.....why waste good r/o

Kinda kills 2 birds with one stone :D
