Rise in ammonia and nitrate

My peppermint shrimp went missing if it is dead somewhere could that cause my nitrate and ammonia to rise? All other levels are good.

One peppermint shrimp shouldn't cause any noticeable increases in your tank parameters as long as the tank is cycled properly. Your clean up crew will most likely take care of it before it has a chance to rot.

how big is the tank? how do you lose a shrimp in a nano? Forgive me for asking the dumb question...not a nano guy so I'm wondering why you couldn't just lift the LR out to find the shrimp?

Or is it just possible the shrimp shed and is hiding?
