Rockfish's Elos 70 build

Finally upgraded to a bigger tank and pieced together components from different sources First time using a system with a proper sump!
  • ELOS 70 tank and stand - Used but in great condition, purchased from a friend of a friend
  • Sump: Trigger system 26 amythyst - Used from a member on another forum -
  • Lighting: Radion XR30 G5 blue (I bought new 6 months ago knowing I would be upgrading from my 20 gallon)
  • Protein Skimmer - Bubble Magnus 7 - Traded for Anemones
Added new sand and Marco rock. Transferred contents from my 20 gallon AIO tank including some sand. bio-sphere, fish and anemones.
So far so good!

I love this light and the way it makes the tank pop but not sure my wife appreciates the spillover in the living room. I put an order in for a 3D printed shade which should come in next week. Hopefully it helps!

Been a few months since my last update Added a 3D printed shade. Also stocked the tank with some new coral (leptospirosis, Acan, Wellso, torch, frogspawn) and fish (leopard wrasse Solon wrasse, diamond goby, fire fish). Black windows continue to thrive and am considering moving them out before take over.
Alk has been on the low side and trying to bring it up slowly. I have been getting away with dosing an all in one until now but moving to the two part soon.

My wife got tired of seeing the 5 gallon bucket for my ATO in the living room and I could not justify spending $$$ on a swanky reservoir.
I went out and bought myself a 10 gallon tank from petco and dropped it into an cheap ottoman I had lying around the house. Not bad…

Looking great! Love the leopard wrasse. How long have you had it? Where did you get him?

He is my new favorite and latest addition so had him only for a little over a week. After research and debate, I took the calculated risk to my skip my usual quarantine tank transfer protocol since these guys don’t do well without sand etc. and sometime can’t make it out due to stress. Hopefully I don’t regret it!

I picked him up at Advanced Marine Aquatics in long island since I was visiting family. BTW, I highly recommend that place if you are ever in that area. Great section of healthy coral and fish at great prices.
