Should I bother raising pH?

Of course this point is moot now. I come home and my mother in law probably opened up the window for a bit. The pH is back to about 8.2

Nathan, where's your pH after the lights have been on for a good amount of time? Even I notice mine lower than I like, but I'm just drastic - I rip the window wide open for a couple of hours. I second Phyl's question: Are you allergic to house plants? ??? Even if it's just a leafy one, without pollen and such?

Well normally, my pH sits at 8.3 lights off and reaches high at 8.5/8.6 lights on. Just last two days, it was really steady at 7.85-8.0. I would add some kalk to drive pH up and within an hour, it went right back. At first, I thought it was the system but all 3 tanks in that room had same pH so I thought it was instrument error, but 3 instruments is hard to argue against. I knew it was the air in house at that point. This will correct itself so I'm not worried.

It's basically what the topic said...should I even bother trying to correct this? And of course, it went back up today cause the window was open for a little bit. Oh btw, I remember now why you bake the baking soda for alkalinity. It's to drive off water and carbon dioxide so it can raise pH better.
