should I build a sump?

I have a 29g nano and I was thinking of eventually adding an ATO and also a sump to have more water volume and make some equipment more discreet. I know that its best to have the tank drilled with an overflow box but is there another way to easily add a sump to an already up and running system? Im thinking of doing a 10-15 gallon sump in my pine stand under the 29.

You'll need to use one of the hang on overflow boxes if you don't want to drill the tank

You can also put the livestock in a temp container while you drill the display.
