skimmer is going crazy

so im cycaling my tank and my bk mini 160 seems to be filling up a collection cup of a light shade yellow every 10 mins what should i do? My valve is all the way open.

Is your skimmer big enough for your tank? Is your tank overcrowded?

not sure about this skimmer but could you lower the water height?

a bubble king has two lines and the water leval is sappost to be between .(and mine is) and i have a 95 tottal gallon system and this skimmer is rater 40g to like 150. My dt is only 40g

try and reduce the water level in the skimmer just a tad see if that helps

it is open all the way, the valve. i think im going to try and rais and skimmer a little then take out some water to see if that helps.

How old is the skimmer and how long has it been running in your system? If the water level is correct for the skimmer, let it run/overflow for a day or two. It will calm down. The same thing happens to me when I get a new skimmer or put my hand in the tank.

The water level in the sump is to high bring up your skimmer some.

Getting your skimmer working at optimum can take some time to setup.
More so in a new tank.
Google your model of skimmer and see what issues other people have had.
