Some things bothering me about my tank

It looks like you have some room on the left - and even on the right. Is it possible to shift the sump over?

I was thinking if you shift the sump over, you could set up an ATO and connect it to a small 5 gallon salt container and place it next to the sump. This would resolve the issue with the uneven water level.

regarding the 3 mag 12s. You could replace two mag 12s and put in a single eheim pump (or even a single mag 18) instead. I won't talk about plumbing an external pump since your space appears limited already. You'll just need a T to split the line as it travels up.

When I had to redo my sump I used a rubbermade storage box as a temporary sump.I just used flex line to relocate the pipes.If you can do this you might be able to add an extra baffle to help with the water level. This lets you drain the sump and glue in the extra baffle(s)

As far as the damsels go ,good luck (lol) they are going to limit your future fish selections due to here lovely personality's. You might as well bite the bullet and get them out now. You can use a piece of eggcrate to divide the tank into a smaller area .Once you have them in that area remove the rock from that area and net them and then toss them at a wall ;D
