I would like to raise the skimmer in my sump but the PVC won't allow it. The skimmer sits in the first chamber. I plan to use egg crate and partition the sump diagonally and use one section for the filter sock and the other for LR and cheato. Then I plan to use egg crate in the second chamber horizontally with one section for the skimmer/pump and phosban pump. The other section for more LR rubble. The last chamber is for the return. Does this sound okay? I know must put the skimmer at the beginning. Here is a top down view I whipped up.
