Had it about 3 months, but I had some water issues so it's still ticked off. Haven't found any tricks yet.
I'm going to start looking for nps groups to get some hints.

I can tell you what I've been doing. Tonight is night 4 and I'm starting to feel like maybe I figured it out. I cut a piece of acrylic larger than the container I'm using. Glued the sun coral to a frag disk and then placed that on top of the acrylic. Every day after work I've been basting and basting and basting. Basting from 5-10 pm. I figured I'm home every day and put my kids to sleep every night. Let's try this. I'll post some progression shots

it looks like its starting to come out!
please keep the updates coming, i want to know how this story turns out

I have watched people that just take them out of the tank. Put them in a bowl of tank water, feed and place them back in the tank when they are done. Seems like a lot of work but I've heard of more than one person do it. Keeps some of the nutrients out of your tank

Probably works. Seems like a lot of work

Back in the days when I had a 110 in my dining room I had one.
One day, after about 2 months, my son freaked out as it was opened, for whatever reason only it knew.
I'd then be able to catch it opened on a rare occasion.
More picky than both my kids put together. Never had one since.

Experimented tonight with feeding the sun coral without the enclosure over it and with the pumps on. Seems to be figuring things out. Or maybe I am

That's always been my wife's favorite coral. I've had many over the years. All various colors too
