Surge System

Has anyone heard of this? It was mentioned in the link I posted in the General Forum. I need to look into this.

Do a Google search for "Carlson Surge Device". There are lots of variations but Dr. Bruce Carlson was the first to publish his surge device in "The Reef Aquariium" vol.1 by Sprung & Delbeek.

not worth it unless you have a really really big system. The seattle aquarium had an huge surge device for their tidal pool display. If I recall right the shedd aquarium had the same also.

The biggest issue in my opinion is salt spray.

The Seattle aquarium was great, that was an awesome surge tank, but it was massive and there was a lot of water being sprayed around.
