T5 fixtures

Looking for a good 8 bulb 48" t5 setup. This will go inside my canopy but I'm thinking about going with a fixture instead of a retro kit because that would possibly give me the option of going topless if I choose to go that route someday.

Was looking at ATI and TEK. Anyone have any experience on the ATI? Thx.

i just got the ati power module with the 8 bulbs very nice system very well made paid $899 with bulbs and free shipping its been running for about a mmonth corals are coloringup nice

IMVHO ATI fixtures are phenomenal. Pricey, but terrific.

I've used Tek lighting ever since I started in this hobby 2 years ago, and am completely satisfied with them.
Looky here:

I had a 6 X 54Watts unit over my 75, and am using Tek Light ready fit retros over my 180.

Great fixtures, I highly recommend them. :) Let me know if you would like to see some pictures of my stuff.

Flag on the play 15 yards unsportswoman like penalty. ;)
Don't trust her....look for the small print that says buying a Tek fixture does not guarantee perfection like her tank. ;D
I think Tek probably cuts her a commission check everytime she posts.

JRWohler - I am with you on the light & commission ;) I have T5s, bulbs as suggested by Wendy and my corals are nowhere near to her perfection.

I use the new current 6 bulb 36" t-5 on my 58 frag tank and love it. I think it is more bulb selection than the fixture that makes all the difference in the world. As long as you have independent reflectors.

I like my current bulb setup so much that am looking to get the same type of setup for a new 125 in the next few weeks.

I dont think I will ever go back to halides again.

If you need a good selection of bulbs then just ask Wendy....she was a huge help when I needed the proper bulbs and the colour looks great. I love my ATI bulbs :D

There was a very good article in TFH this month or last about reflectors on bulbs and the difference it makes. What I took from it is that so long as you have some reflector it is a good thing either individual or one piece.

James, what is TFH if you don't mind me asking? Thanks.

Really leaning towards ATI at this point. No, I never expect my tank to look like Wendy's.

Tropical Fish Hobbiest.  Let me see if I can get it online for you.

Not one they have archived...darn should have asked when you were here I would have given it to you.

I got an 8 bulb 48" T5 fixture from a guy in North Jersey, works at an industrial lighting supply wharehouse. Not very pretty to look at, but the canopy covers it. Paid $180.......
