would i be able to keep any coral, like softies maybe an lps or so. under 18" of water with 2x24w 24" T5 with individual reflectors......only have one MH right now and can get a cheap 24" t5 retro unit. half the tank will be lit by MH and the other half with 24" t5's with 48" HO T5(actinic) running the length of the tank. individual reflectors on all t5's by the way. alos would 4x24w 24" t5(10k or 6500K) with individual reflectors allow me to keep sps?

Yes you can, I also have LPS, softies, mushrooms, zoas under T5's and everything is growing and thriving. You can also keep SPS but you have to have a basically nitrient free environment

I even kept a clam on the sand bed in a 90 gallon with T5s. I've kept SPS, LPS, and softies under T5s. You just have to adjust the positioning in the tank.

The only reason I went with the MHs I have now (besides the price!) was to build a canopy that contained both. And I've decided I love the shimmer. :)
