Talk to me about Macro lenses

Ok, so I've been a photobug for years, but never had the need for macro photography.... That is, until now.

Someone talk to me about a macro lens for the Nikon D70. I thinking middle of the pack here. I don't want a waste of money, but I don't necessarily want to spend my kids' college tuition on a camera lens (and, I'm not particularly fond of the idea of sleeping in my car, if you married guys know what I mean!).

Any suggestions? I've used canon equipment forever and a day, this is my first Nikon.

Did I hear someone is looking for a

"less than 150 shots, preowned" Nikon 105mm Vibration Resistant Macro Lens for his
Nikon D70?!?!? Also for a whole lot less than what was originally paid since he doesn't use that lens as much as his 60mm lens AND he has a wedding to pay for?!?!?
