This morning I placed wreaths on the graves of Veterans in Calverton National Cemetery on Long Island near my home.



I went with some friends.


These are friends of my wife and mine for over 50 years. Sue is the "girl" who takes care of me when I have surgery for knees and shoulders.

Yes it is.

I still got it. Yesterday before we put the wreaths on the graves of Veterans we were in a bagel shop. Someone in the next booth tapped me on the shoulder and I turned around. It was a very elderly Lady. She asked if one of us "young" men could help her get to her car.
She was 94 years old and drove there herself but needed help walking with her cane. My friend Sue was next to me so I couldn't easily get up and my friend Richie helped her. As they left the table she asked him, "How old is your friend with the Vietnam hat?".

I still got it. I should have gotten her number. I don't mean her Medicare number.

My morning walk today.

We decided to have a New Years Eve party and are getting the guest list ready.
It seems more people want to come than we figured.

We normally have a Christmas party but we already had that last week so New Years Eve it is.

Was snowing hard earlier but stopped, plow buried my garage so was out shoveling. Going to XMAS get together for the grandkids. Shoveling wasn't bad even though I fell moving yesterday and hurt my back. Took Some pain med and moving on.

I didn't walk my normal route up many steps and hills. This snow is very slippery and tonight it is going into the twenties. My surgeon told me the only way I could hurt my new shoulder now is to fall on it. So I was careful of that.

I just came back from my very Manly, dark, cold and windy walk to the beach.

I had to wimp out as I couldn't make it all the way there. To get to the beach I have to go down a very steep hill that goes for about half a mile. I started down and I could walk between the ice on old tire tracks where someone drove just after it stopped snowing.

As I got closer to the beach, I saw JoJo Starbuck come skating past me at a fast clip.

The road became a shining sheet of ice and there is no cell service there. I could see me slipping and falling on my new shoulder so next spring someone walking their dog would dig me up and put me in a museum next to Otzi, "The Iceman". (Google him too)

So I turned around and walked past a rescue horse farm about a mile in the other direction. In the 5 years I have been walking here, I have never seen another person walking early in the morning, especially during winter unless they were walking a dog. Bunch of Sissies.

This guy was in my tank with in 8 minutes and began eating 2 minutes later. It never hid and stays in the front.
(The guy said it was a Fairy Wrasse but I am not so sure)

I am having severe issues this morning, just before we are going away for Christmas. My wife's Trigeminal Neuralgia came back so she can't speak or eat and is in terrible pain. I have been trying to get her pain Mgt Doctor to give her a shot but f course no one answers the phone.

She is scheduled for Gamma Knife for this but that won't be until after the holidays.

That truly sucks. Sorry she is going through this. Just keep calling and be a PITA to the DR.

Thanks MadReefer. She had 3 shots in her face and was in a lot of pain last night as it takes a day or so for the shots to work. They are a temporary fix until we can get an appointment for Gamma Knife.

She had that once years ago and it lasted 3 years. It's not painful but the shots are and they left a big lump in her face that I hope is down now.

I don't know how she feels yet today.

Thanks Diana. So far, she is no better, but it could be just because of the needles in the nerve. Hopefully, it will gradually get better as Christmas is no time to be in pain. Not that any time is.

Hi Paul, I'm sorry you and your wife are having these problems, especially around the holidays. I hope things work out as best they can. Take care.
