Tank birthday and I'm a Geezer

We threw a surprise moving away party last night at a seaside restaurant.
Our friend lived here for 40 years and now is moving to Florida. She rented there on Hutchinson Island for 10 years but now is going permanently. We will miss her.

My wife and I organized it.. We will miss her.

Yes, we are all old. Someday, if you are lucky, you will all get there and hopefully have loads of very good friends as we have, these are many of her, and our friends from this community.

just came back from hunting amphipods on the beach at low tide and I got thousands. I also got a lot of larger swimming "things" that I have no idea what they are and hundreds of tiny snails. It all went in my tank, mud and all so if my tank crashes, I will have to get new hobby.

I checked out the tank today, and I have amphipods swimming all over the place, under the rocks, and in my UG filter. The fish are smiling so much that I may have to get them plastic surgery to make their face bigger to fit their smile.

Homesteading for Health.

There are those who talk the talk, and those who walk the walk. Over 50 years together, still in love, and still frisky. And, back in the day, they all said we were too young. They were wrong. The above photos were from a photo shoot yesterday for an article in Homesteaders of America

One of my Janss pipefish is still doing well but he is very difficult to feed because he (or she) only stays in a cave in the back of the tank in the dark so I have to target feed him there. My last Janss Pipes also would only eat frozen mysis and nothing else and I had that one for 7 years which may be their lifespan. That one came out to eat and it ate a lot.

The other one I got was late getting here by a day and he was floating in the bag and never ate.

Target feeding this other one is very hard because my long nose butterfly and filefish learned that I target feed there and immediately goes back there when they see the feeder tube and they eat all the food.

The poor pipefish only gets two or three mysis.



I normally shoot in some live worms to feed the other fish, then run around to the back of the tank to target feed the pipefish.

If I go on vacation, no one is going to feed like this.

My little bluestripe fends for himself so I don't have to feed him.

I also have to target feed my three Dwarf Waspfish as I only see one at a time and they only eat about once a week. They eat earthworms, and so do all the other fish, so I have to do the same with them as the pipes, but at least they come to the front when they are hungry.



2 days ago I added thousands of amphipods along with tiny snails and many other swimming and crawling things that I have no idea what they are.
(Try doing that in a quarantined tank. )

My fish all look amazing and so do the corals. I think I have about 40 fish but I can't possibly count them because many of them hide for most of the day and that is what I want and why they are so healthy and many are spawning. They are being kept natural and immune so will live long enough to die of old age. I think I have two black clown gobies that are near the end of their life as I think they only live 6 or 7 years and they are past that and are showing their age which is fine.

I have so many earthworms now that I am letting some go back to the soil. I have a one gallon bucket of dirt and I added a few worms that I found on the street after a rain. I feed them banana peels about once a week and I got hundreds of worms. The smaller ones I can feed to my waspfish whole but the larger ones I cut up for the rest of the fish. (The worms frown on that)

This is excellent food and will not infect your tank with parasites but they are loaded with living gut bacteria. I have been feeding these worms to my fish since the 60s and anemones really love them, especially when they wiggle around in their tentacles.

I don't know if this link will work but my wife is now more famous them me. She is in a commercial for a cleaning service that was taken in our home. Our small condo looks much larger in this video because they used one of those lenses, they use to sell houses where your tiny home looks like a mansion. It is not.; She is all excited and looks beautiful

I guess you don't do a lot of fishing.

My morning walk was not too eventful but I did help this fella across the street.

They are endangered here and I only see one about every two years as they don't cross streets well.

I rescued two horseshoe crabs on my way out. One was back on the sand on my way back so I threw him out into deeper water. After 200 million years you would think these things would have developed a GPS by now but they keep getting stuck, up-side-down on the beach where they become seagull food



My guest bathroom is coming along good. I just need to change the shower doors with black barn door fixtures and paint

The other night walked dogs kate about midnight and sawca Fowler toad. Odd because no water near me. Few days later with all the rain almost stepped on getting my car.
