Tank monitoring

I’ve noticed a few posts on other forums about tanks crashing while the owner was on vacation so I just wanted to pass on something that I do.  I set up a webcam so I can see the tank, temperature display and pH monitor.  The software that came with the camera allows me to take a picture every minute and upload it to a website.  I have Comcast internet service so I’m always connected and I also get a free webpage.  The software that came with the Creative webcam made it easy to set up the site.  Now when I go on vacation I take my laptop and I can see my tank anytime a want.

Nothing beats a tank-sitter but I like to see what’s going on for myself.

I need to do that for the next trip I have to take! I was completely paniced all week being away from my tank.

I think my wife got upset when I called and the first thing I asked was "How's the baby" and the second thing was "How's my tank!"

Her response was "fine, fine, and oh, I'm fine too."
