tempered glass bottom and overflows

might be getting a thick glass tank (10 mm) and the bottom is tempered glass so I cant drill there.

Is it a problem to have someone drill thicker glass? What would it cost to have someone do this?

What would be the best spot on the tank to drill the two drain holes? Im thinking in the corner of the back pane of glass about 2 inches from the bottom.

cool overflow but I dont have the equipment to drill glass and I dont trust myself. Do you guys know any local places that I can bring a kit like that to?

I would drill the tank in the upper middle or upper corners of the tank and silicone a glass overflow box around the hole. Elbows with strainers aren't very effcient at skimming the water. Any glass shop can drill a tank and some LFS will do it also. I paid $20 a hole.

Nano, the overflow kit comes with the drill bit to drill the hole. All you need is a drill. Watch one of their videos and you'll see how easy it is. Go slow with no pressure. That's all you need to know...Oh, and as you know, don't try it on tempered glass.

If you are close by, I'll come and help you.

Yea it's very easy. Thicker glass is actually even easier because it won't break as easy.

Redfish that's usually my pitch...LOL, The kits are great! And great customer service
