Timezone for the new forums?

Did anyone notice that the time on the posts is displayed 4 hrs ahead of EDT?

Someone with the permissions needs to adjust the timezone to EST so the correct time is displayed.

Click on "Settings" then click on "General Settings", you will see a drop down to set the time.

Yes. What I meant was to change it in the forum settings to EDT. This way everyone defaults to that and not GMT ;)
If someone wants to change it to non EDT , they can overwrite the settings inside their profile.

There is no option for this. I think we would need a programmer to overwrite the code. I will look into it

If you can give me access, I can try ;). We may have to change a config file somewhere.
Oops .. I hope I did not offend anyone on the website community :)

I think they (vbulletin) use mysql. This should be a simple update statement in that case ...

If you go to Settings and the General Settings there is an option to change the Time Zone. Each member will need to update this themselves.

Date & Time Options

Time Zone: (GMT -5:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada), Bogota, Lima
All timestamps displayed on the forums can be automatically corrected to show the correct time for your location in the world. Simply select the appropriate time zone from the list below

Mad

The idea is to default to EST and not have each user change it. If we default to EST, anyone who is not on EST timezone (most are), can change to where they are.
This mass update, if you would - can be done via update statement in the database and all new users can be "defaulted" to EST.

Sunny,
I understand. Just if people can't wait for the update they can change it themselves in the meantime.
