Powerful the torch and placed in front of large nepthea. Seemed okay but not fully extended. During night it fell over so I just picked it up. The head were Very retracted. I assumed to much flow. Moved it farther back on side of tank. A few green heads popped. What's the best spot for it?

I've always put mine towards the bottom, in an area of low-moderate flow. Keep their sweepers out of reach from all other corals; they will even sting frogspawn & hammers.

I got a torch a month ago and tried almost every location of moderate flow in my tank and it looked okay but didn't look as good as it did when I first got it. Then I tried a lower flow area, still good water movement but just lower flow and it's really doing well now and fully extended. Good luck with yours!

Edit: I also read that torches do better in random flow areas, if they are only blowing in one direction you can actually damage the tissue. Just what I read so I don't know how true it is but figured I'd share

I placed mine in the sand in an area of varying and moderate flow. Has done really well and seems to be very happy. I don’t know if that helps, but it’s been working pretty well for me.
