Touch up back of tank

My 180g has the back of the tank painted black. In some area toward the bottom frame and the top frame, the paint chipped away. I wanted to touch up those areas but I'm not sure what to use. Home Depot only has Rustoleum, but I've read that alot of people us Krylon. Do I have to respray those areas? I was thinking of using a sponge type roller to apply it. Can I do that or should I spray it? If Rustoleum is the only thing available, which should I use there are so many types.

I recently painted the back glass of the tank. I used rustoleum is nice and think and most times with one coat of paint you should be able to take care of those chips. spray paint is to thin and might need a couple of layers.

If the tank is setup with water & livestock I would recommend painting with a brush so no oversray goes in the water. Several light coats will stick better than one heavy coat IME. I just used a cheap latex paint when I did mine.

Tank is not setup yet. Jceli728, what type of Rustoleum did you use?

I got it at HD, just ask them for the multi purpose one. I'll try to check tomorrow the name on the can...

I would recommend Krylon. I would strip the entire back with a razor and repaint it with black and dark blue as you move from bottom to top. It will look more realistic.....
