Well I have been out of the reef hobby for a while but a recent visit to the Musée océanographique de Monaco really piqued my interest. Here's a few videos of that visit.

As soon as I came back I found this gem of a tank that's impossible to resist. It's a work of art. The design and build quality is way better than anything I have seem.

I will be sitting on this for a while until I am ready. I will probably do a nem and softy tank with some monty caps. But for now, enjoy looking at the tank empty :)

Joe, you can get even better TDS if you install a three way valve on your "drinking" unit between the membrane and the storage tank and use the water produced from there. Drinking units rely on breakthrough TDS to make the water palatable....it needs the TDS. By using the valve and letting the unit run for a couple minutes before collecting, you'll get your TDS as low as you could without DI. Hope this makes sense. If need be, you could now pick up a separate canister for DI and the right way to use it would be with this three way valve setup.

As far as Jebao vortechs, I'm now using their 10 and 40 wetsides that work perfectly with Ecotech drysides.....and I love them.

Welcome back! The Jebao DMP pumps are great. If you need LED lighting look at A8se II, A8max II and a8Pro II on AliExpress. They are the Ecotech Radion knock off. During your search on AliExpress, you may see the ATI Stration clone called the Kassray. They don't have enough spread/par.

@redfishbluefish - haven't thought about the possibility of a 3 way valve. The drinking filtration system is great not too difficult to add another canister for DI.

@diana a starting to look at the 60w nicrew on Amazon thanks for the suggestions. I have resisted buying from Aliexpress but looks like it's going to give Amazon a run for it's dominance. Bought a bunch of Lithium batteries over the holidays from Aliexpress for the first time and the experience was good. I look at the recent prices of the name brand equipment the prices are just not realistic for most people.
