Watchman Goby and Pistol Shrimp

I gave up on the 30 gal hex- fish need horizontal space, not so much vertical- I did the transfer today to the 40b and have a sand bed. I want to add a watchman and a pistol- hard to find them paired- can I add the watchman and the pistol later, or do the have to be added together

Mine paired around a month after introduction - bought separately. Yellow Watchman and Randall Pistol.

Mine have always paired pretty instantaneously. Nature best friends.

Changed my mind about a pistol shrimp-I bought a small yellow watchman, can I add another to a 40B- do they change sex or pair anyway, or just keep their distance
