Whats the difference between DI resins

Was wondering around the Champion Lighting website and seen there is two types of resin. Cation Resin and Anion Resin. Whats the difference? I know the one is for positive and one is for negative but what is used for RODI systems? Is it a Mix?

I actually haven’t seen the product, but you do need both to “clean” your water. I like the fact that they sell them split, because I have a two chamber DI unit…… one for the anionic portion and the other for the cationic portion. If you only have a single chamber DI unit, you will want to mix them together.

For those who regenerate, the single component resins would make regeneration so simple. If you have a mixed bed, the first step is to split them up to regenerate.

And FYI, the single anion/cation resins is just like a Kati-Ani system.
