Where and what can I get to glue frags/rocks together?

My stupid snails keep knocking everything over. I'd like to be able to glue some of the stuff in place so that that doesn't happen.

What can I get to solve this and where can it be had? Locally would be best, but online is fine too, I guess.

I have seen a few people drill holes in the rock and then put peices of a plastic coat hanger in the holes to brace the rocks. that seems to work well.

I missed the frags to the rock part. I drill a small hole in the rock then use that epoxy Greg is talking about. Or the glue from the group buy. That works well for frogspahn or trumpts or SPSs

I've had success using a gel type superglue (superglue, crazyglue). Pull the frag out of the water and dry off the bottom as best you can with a paper towel or something. Put a liberal dose of the gel glue on the frag. Get a nice "bubble" of glue on it. The bubble will form a protective coating around the glue as soon as it hits the water. Once in place push down hard to break the bubble and the glue will set. I usually try and hold it in place for a good 30 to 60 seconds although I doubt you really need to hold it that long.

For rock to rock gluing I think epoxy glue is the way to go. You need to pull both pieces of rock from the tank and dry them off pretty well. You can use a drill and some type of dowel (plastic works). Then just glue the stuff together with epoxy.

Note, I've never glued my rock pieces together so I haven't done the above. I'll usually just try and work the placement of the rocks in the tank so that everything is sturdy on it's own. This way I always have the option of moving something down the road.

You can use the epoxy putty without taking the rock out of the water and without dowels.

Good to know about the epoxy working under water. If would guess if you aren't going to use any type dowels then this would be the way to go.

I was using Locktite Gel but have since switched to the NJRC Gel that the club has for sale. I like it a lot better for gluing frags.

I use the gel and epoxy sandwich method for larger pieces. Blot dry the surfaces to be joined, apply gel, apply aquastick epoxy to the base on top of the layer of gel, place the frag with gel in the epoxy.

For rocks, when necessary, I use the epoxy.

Be prepared for your skimmer to get very active. I usually change my carbon at the same time as adding freshly glued frags.
