where to find 1/4" acrylic

Since I can't find anyone to build me my custom fuge, I'm going to try it myself. Anyone know where near Morristown where I can find 1/4" acrylic? Is that something home depot would have or do I need to find a distributor somewhere? Thx.

HD and Lowes have a variant of acrylic, but I think that your better off with cast acrylic and you need to go to a sign maker/store to pick that up.

I'm not sure about HD been there several times looking for 1/4 acrylic but have never found it. I know Lowe's has it for sure.

In hd they normally store it in two places that I've noticed..
1- in the section near the signs (Like for sale signs and mailboxs letters and numbers)
2nd- in the section behind the kitchen displays near the storm doors and screens..
Hope that helps you..

Try home depot....ask at the windows desk.....its in the windows dept....If they look at you funny when you say acrylic...tell them you want Plexi-glass. They tend to understand better what you want when you say Plexi-glass instead of acrylic.

personal opinion on my part....if you are using a "tank" to make a fuge out of then you are better off getting your baffles made of glass from a glass cutter.

You need a ton of silicone to get the acrylic baffles to hold on a glass tank.... It is much easier to get a bond on glass baffles in a glass tank. Might be cheaper too if you can find a reasonable glass cutter....I think they still do that at Lowes if I am not mistaken

If you are making the whole sump out of acrylic then the point is mute

I just did one recently and it was cheaper using glass.make sure you measure twice and have it cut once. most places also bevel the top for free so you won't cut yourself while working inside the sump.
whoops it looks like you are starting from scratch.
let us know how it works out. I also want to build one. I set up with a wet/dry and want to change over.I can't seem to get rid of microbubbles
