Why was my post about group coral buy deleted?

Your posts, in multiple forums, soliciting members, as an unknown entity were viewed as board spam, and as such were moved to the moderators forum. You were sent a PM and an email regarding the removal of your posts.

You are welcome to introduce yourself and participate in the forums as a contributing member!

Phyl ,

You wanted me interact more with the board and members before trying to host a group coral buy, as I said I thought this would have been a perfect way to get to know everyone, so I've tried to do so and started by posting three LFS reviews to help and inform the org. of what's in there area. Hope these help and hopefully in the future you'll allow me to really participate in being part of this org. by allowing me to post this opportunity once again.

Hi Chris,

If you really want to interact with the board and NJRC members, the best way is to come to a few monthly meetings. It's the best way to get to know everyone. Having 3 posts and asking to do a group buy is pretty tall order. The internet is a big scary place, so you have to forgive us if we seem a bit apprehensive.

Try and make it to a meeting, I'm sure you will enjoy it! :)

Reefdrumz makes an excellent point. There are all sorts of distasteful people out there on the internet looking to, at best, make a quick buck off of trusting people or do some far worse things. I'd definitely say hang out, meet people, get to know people and get them to know you before you start asking people into group buys.

That, and, to be honest, multiple postings in multiple forums does look a heck of a lot like the kind of spammers that do try to take people for all they can. Look at all the people on Craigslist who post about their sweet, perfectly trained, teacup Yorkie that needs a loving home and just $500 sent to Cameroon to have it sent to America. :p

Hello everyone,

I understand fully, and I thought by signing up on the net I was a member. I didn't know until Phyllis sent me the application form that I really needed to send in dues and all. Application is now filled out and will be sent out Sunday. What everyone didn't see that Phyllis only did was that I was willing to foot the bill for everything, and not trying to collect anything until pick up time. I only was trying to see how many people were interested in such a thing to see if it was really worth the trouble, and as for the spamming goes......sorry .... just wasn't sure in which forum to post in. I also sent out my $20 already for the frag swap so hopefully I'll see some of you there and get to know you that way.

Until then,
Chris

Just to clarify this, all Moderators have had a chance to review the post. We do precious little around here without moderator concensus. We certainly appreciate your good intentions, but this isn't the way to go about things.

Looking forward to meeting you at an upcoming meeting!
