Will be away for 2 months....

Im gonna be hiking the Appalachian Trail for 2 months and my tank will be home and my parents will look after it. I would like to make things as automated as possible simply so I dont have to rely on someone who knows nothing about reefing. What suggestions would you make? Obviously ATO. I only have 2 fish right now, but an trying to get rid of a lemonpeel angel (anyone want it for free?) so really I will only have one fish, a clown. I also have an assortment of coral, but all easy to care for and needs no special feeding. Lights are already on a timer too.

have you had any problems with him picking on corals? is he very territorial in your tank? if he is a friendly type with you clowns and not doing damage to corals - I can pick him up any time tomorrow.

I would do a water change as close to the time you leave as possible . A tank can go 2 months without a change,I dint suggest it but in your case it makes it easier. Explain how to remove skimate from skimmer (shutting off skimmer first ) . If your not really attached to your clown sell him or trade him into a fishstore for credit . That way the tank needs no feedings . Make a checklist . Have an experienced reefer or maintenance company on "standby" if a problem happens while you away that your family cant or doesn't feel comfortable handling . Enjoy hiking the trail, that should be a great experience .

He does pick on coral, but only my brain coral and occasionally some polyps. Tomorrow is not good as I work everyday from 6am-6pm. I will be breaking down my 55 and setting up a 75 within the next 2 weeks. When I take all the LR out of the 55 it will be much easier to get the angel out. I will let you know when I do that.
