I bought 2 about 4 months ago hoping that they would pair up- no such luck. I was able to remove the smaller one about a month ago and it's currently in a 13 gal- eats great and has grown quit a bit. Will post a pic if wanted

Damsels rarely sweeten the deal.
Thing I found out about damsels. Most get territorial in smaller tanks, there are only 2 that aren't- Springer and Talbot- Springers stay small barely over an inch, but can be bought locally, Talbots are a bit larger but I've never seen them in LFS- all others can be had if given a wide berth- larger tanks- 75g+. Lastly, don't believe everything you read- the pink damsel was supposed to be one of the less aggressive varieties
