Xenia and clams

I've had xenia growing right next to a few maximas and actually growing on the side of one clam (xenia will grow anywhere!). It didn't seem to cause any problems except that when it would disturb the "mantle area" of the clam they would tend to close up.

So I'd try and make sure it doesn't disturb that area of the clam.

I've had everything next to my clams and nothing hurt them. Tickled them maybe.

Does anyone have advice on keeping xenia alive ? Many say it grows like weeds and some of us can"t even keep it alive. I have tried dosing with iodine and that seemed to help but ultimately it shrivels and dies.

I love the way it looks in the tank (maybe because you always want what you can't have)but have had no success for greater than 2 weeks.

Check your water parameters and where do you putthem, and check these http://www.wetwebmedia.com/xeniidfaqs.htm and http://www.wetwebmedia.com/xeniidarts.htm
