Xenia Care

Hi
I just purchased some Xenia (Waving Hand)
And I'm not to familar with the care of it!
Farely new to saltwater!
If any one has some helpful notes or hints if would be very helpful!!!
Thanks in advance!

Just keep your water parameters up to par.
1.025
Cal 450
Alk 9-10dkh
ph 8.2
temp 79-82
nitrates as low as you can
phosphates as low as you can.

FWIW, my pulsing xenia seemed to prefer moderate flow, not high and is doing well under medium to strong lighting. I am trying to control it's spreading by keeping it on a small rock in the middle of the sand bed away from all other rock. It spreads like a dandelion.

Moderate indirect flow is what i had it under. Mine grew like a weed. Xenia is hit or miss. Some people can grow it others can't Mine didn't care if the water was dirty or spotless. Some people actually use it for nutrient export because it does filter the water. Be careful if it decides to die because it will crash your tank. Good luck.

i have had 3 species of xenia and 2 species of anthelia.
my experience is, with exception of one specie of xenia, the rest are pretty darn hard to kill off.

yes they seem to grow like weed and they grow in clean or dirty water and tolerate some extreme temp swings and salinity swings, flow and light.... i just can't figure out how i kllled off one specie... the one that died is a blue colored xenia
