Yellow Tang

I joined the melev’s reef Facebook page a few weeks ago and last weekend a gentlemen posted he was breaking down his tank and giving away this 2 1/2 year old biota yellow tang. He admitted the tank had been neglected and the fish does appear to have HLLE but hopefully I can nurse him back to health with some nori, selcon, and amino acids.

My Desjardini Sail had it. Didn't seem to bother it at all. The kole, purple and gem were fine. Nothing I tried helped.

Were you able to reverse it?

No. Always have lots nori with selcon available but it never went away. Did lots of reading. It’s one of those mysteries of reefing. No concrete evidence of what causes it or heals it, and while the odds seem to be against it healing some do have miraculous healings of bad cases. Good luck.

I had a coral beauty that had it. I used EcoSystem Reef Solution and it cured it.
