15 Gallon Ridge Cube

After a decade of moving every 6-12 months, I am finally in a spot where I think I’ll be for the foreseeable future, so I am setting up my largest tank yet.

IM Fusion 15 (upgraded to a controllable 20w dc pump to use a pulse mode)
Hello Reef tank stand
Hygger 30W Lights 2x
Finnex 100w heater
Custom controller with ATO and 4 doser controls that will remain unused until it gets up and going

Trying out bare bottom to start and might add sand or coarse aragonite later. Rock is stuff I picked up in petco and some reef rubble I had laying around. Epoxy and super glue to fix the aquascape. Went for 3 ridge elements tapering up to the return nozzle.

Nice.

Myself personally, I wouldn't use the petco live rock. Everytime I go in there's so much cyanoalgae everywhere.

Kpaquatics sells live rock fresh from the ocean. I would get some live rock rubble from them.

I stocked my tank with live rock and 8 months in my system is stocked with SPS.

I went dry rock, I put a ton of my own rock in the back and a couple small bits in the back of the display to introduce the microbes from my best pico tank. Introducing corals slowly to add some life as it cycles. And definitely too much cyano at petco, not too many good ones other than the one in brick and I’m not too close to that one.
