Advice/Help Torch

Hey so I recently ordered a torch and when it arrived kinda showed up not the best. I have it isolated from my main tank currently . I was told best practice is to dip and potentially frag it. Was also told need a bandsaw to frag a torch . Looking for opinions and if anyone has any experience in fragging torch’s.

that's brown jelly and in most cases that's a goner unless you blast it with a KFC style dip and even after that there is not way to say it would make it. Was there a delay in shipment? Depending on that, I wouldn't buy from that vendor again, this was most likely already down hill when they sent it. Also to advise to frag it when it looks like its a walling style torch when a healthy one when fragged has a 50/50 shot of making it, is terrible advice and to assume most customers will have a band saw.

I would also take that out of your main display since brown jelly can be contagious to other LPS.

EDIT: taking a closer look at the torch, the flesh band looks thin. the bottom skeleton is already missing flesh, was the flesh there when you initially got it or did it disintegrate after you dipped it?

Thank you and no delay on shipment. Shipped Thursday night and arrived Friday morning like that . I ordered a few that honestly were drastically different off of this vendor on reefnbid . I reached out immediately when received and no answer what so ever . Most of my corals look nothing like what was advertised as well which is also a bit upsetting. I’m not sure but if you guys like I’d post the vendor I ordered from maybe to save someone else but first experience ordering through them has been terrible.

Ooof.. I've only ordered from POTO off reef and bid. I only see the other vendors but haven't taken the leap yet. Mostly because I can just pick it up from poto or cheap shipping

I usually would only get from poto and frag farm . Unfortunately I don’t think I’ll be ordering from this particular vendor as I still have not received even an email back. Just sucks cause that torch either gets introduced to the trash can or my small tank runs the risk of catching the ugly from the torch lol

Unfortunately came exactly like that. Also have a video of it in bag as well. Photo of it is from when it went bag to holding tank while I got everything ready .

Jersey Corals has nice stuff and have ordered from them before. Corals are always healthy.

Aqua SD is the vendor . Overall out of the 9 pieces 1 looked somewhat close to advertised. 0 response from vendor still .

I think someone also had issues here with AquaSD before and there response time was also an issue if i recall correctly

I stopped ordering from ASD a while back. I lost like 3k worth of torches and hammers. I only get stuff online from a select few places that I trust. You should chrck out Lakeside reefer and ultimate corals. Both are vendors here. Lakeside is having a 40% sale right now. Tell him you are part of njrc
