Welcome To NJRC! Take a minute to introduce yourself

Hello all, my name is Ed and I’m in Hunderton County. I started up a small mixed reef tank (55gal.) about a year ago. Trying to figure things out as I go along. Hoping to learn more from this group as my tank matures.

Hello everyone. I am in the process of gathering things for my 32 gallon reef tank that I am planning. Just ordered my aquarium stand for it today actually. Looking forward to learning from fellow hobbists and sharing my reefing journey with you all.

Welcome
It’s the corals part of it that probably makes it a bit harder than fresh water but it’s going to come along little bits at a time;)
Good luck

Welcome to NJRC Manuel! We are here to help! Let me know if you are coming to the NJ Coral show next week.

Hello NJRC,

Its nice to join everyone here. My name is Adam and I've gotten my feet wet, and flooring, in this hobby in 2005 when I turned 20. Back then I had a 75 gallon purchased from petco, plumbed with a 29 into a sump with a good size refugium. Compact flouros, all live rock from the now defunct reef encounter in Hackensack. I maintained soft and LPS at the time. Realized quickly that money, time, and stability in one location was paramount. So I had to breakdown and promise myself that when those three things aligned again I will be back at it. So here I am 21 years later doing exactly that.

Now I live a in Ramsey and have Dove back in head first. Born and raised in northern NJ. Its been amazing to see how much the hobby has changed, evolved, and grew since the early 2000s. So many things soooo much easier and some harder.

Ive known of this group loosely after starting back up a few months ago and signed up to join at Sunday's NJ Coral Fest.

Aside from reef keeping I've stayed busy in a few outdoor hobbies. 10 years of whitewater kayaking followed by another 10 years in rock climbing which I still do today.

Nice to meet everyone and glad to be here!

Adam

And some others buddies are also close to you
It’s always nice for us to know each other as reefing it’s not something that a lot of people do
