I'm going to built a frag tank using plywood lined with acrylic. What are the max dimensions I can make the tank if I use only one 175w mh bulb? The tank will be approx 8" tall and I plan on growing acros and softies in it.
Thanks
I was under the impression that 20k MHs were the best MHs but I've seen quite a few of you guys with 10k and 14k. I switched to a 175w 20k about six months ago and immediately noticed that it didn’t seem as bright as the old 14k and I've been having a problem with a few of my acro colonies dying...
All corals are 40% off between now and Tuesday and you can also get $25 off if you sign up for their mailing list. I've never bought anything from them before but i know Keith has had good experiences with them:

One of my frags had some dead spots on it that were getting bigger so I gave it a Lugols dip about a week ago. I looked at it today and it seems that the dead spots have stopped growing and are healing over but I noticed these today. Any ideas?Â
I’ve noticed a few posts on other forums about tanks crashing while the owner was on vacation so I just wanted to pass on something that I do. I set up a webcam so I can see the tank, temperature display and pH monitor. The software that came with the camera allows me to take a picture...
My display and frag tanks are being taken over by something that looks like a hydroid:
Has anyone had any experience with this problem? I've read the Forceps/Longnose Butterfly will eat hydroids. Is this fish safe around corals?
Thanks
Greg
EDIT:
Took out link and added the actual...
Anyone know the name of the frags at the bottom center and bottom left in this pic? (they're both the same)

I want to set up another frag tank using a shallow rubbermaid container. I think i remember someone saying that the containers have to be "cured" first. Anyone know anything about this?
