Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Water should not back up but you will have a significant reduction in flow from the T joint.
What about capping one of the drain lines and using a reducer fitting for the sump inlet?
The max flow will only be 600 GPH but it might be an easier solution.

I am using a 23Watt(90watt equivalent) Fluorescent floodlight bulb from home depot with a reptile bulb stand, the base fits under the fuge.
It works well and is cheap to operate.

It depends on how handy you are.
There are a lot of good DIY fixtures/ballasts out there to choose from.
If you are not a DIY person then read up on some of the corals that you may want to have before buying a manufactured fixture.
I was a fresh water hobbyist for many years and I initially...
Not to contradict anyone but I have always read that Yellow Tangs should be kept in tank at least 75-90 gallons since they can grow to 6-8 inches.
I would remove the damsels before buying the 4-6 Anthia's.
Just a thought.

I just posted a reply about Anthia's, other than the Bartlett's, they can be difficult to keep.
Anthia's are susceptible to being killed by more aggressive fish(Tangs/Angels), must be feed daily so good skimmer and weekly water changes are usually needed to keep down nitrates, etc.
As far as...
Aquatic Obsessions, Red Sand Aquarium and All Quatics to name a few shops that have good livestock.
Any Anthia's, other than Bartlett's can be difficult.
Compatibility with other species you plan to keep should be researched before buying them.
Daily feedings are OK if you have good skimmer...
I am very interested to hear from anyone who uses a DAS or ETSS skimmer.
I'm considering the DAS EX-2 or ETSS Reef Devil as an upgrade for my 125 gal.

??? I was ordering replacement filters from www.purelyh20.com and I saw an ad for beginner DVD on reef keeping.
To my suprise the "expert" is Bob from Eagle Reef Systems. ;)
I would like to see it but there is no way I'm wasting $59.95(plus shipping & handling) to buy it. :P
Here is the link...
I agree.
You need to siphon the sand with a python or similar device and blow red algae off rock with a bulb syringe/turkey baster.
Increase the frequency of water changes and decrease feedings, this should help.

8) I agree with Carlo, use the canister to remove large particle matter especially if you blow detritus off of your LR.
Consider large granule phosphate or nitrate absorber like seachem, marine carbon granules and simple floss/fiber in the eheim.

Consider using python or suction device to clear some of the detritus build up when doing next water change.
Increase the flow around tank, 2-4 modified maxijets or Hydor Korilla 3's on a wavemaker.
Just a thought...
