Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Yeah, it's on appeal. Funny a dog responds like a normal dog and they get put down, but people get away with crap all the time. I had dogs attacked and the police and spca barely investigated anything....one dog was duct taped from head to toe twice and then two of my dogs (one a seeing eye...
Battling insomnia, I took at look at a new tubastrea that I brought home yesterday and it still hasn't opened. How long do they typically take? The other colony I have in the tank is doing just fine. Anything to coax it to open? That's the one thing about tubastrea, hard to be sure what you are...
I have a MCU research lighthouse controller, but if I did it again I'd get an acjr. The mcu can only control ph or orp, not both...didn't realize that when I bought it. Big shortcoming.
Yep, this is the one fish, hobbyists are certainly responsible for it's endangered status. And knowing the media, if it goes extinct or continues to dwindle in numbers, we'll be to blame for all marine fish who are endangered.
Better paying an extra $20-25 than leading to their extinction. As marine aquarists, we could certainly be responsible in this case if we continue to buy wild caught ones. We don't need the bad press.
Anyone here breeding Banggai or know where to get tank raised ones? I'm looking to get a handful. Want to attempt to breed them on chronicle it on my blog/podcast.
You can still listen to it. I'll post it tonight on 120gallons or you can go to www.blogtalkradio.com/120gallons.
Turnout was low but still thought we had an interesting discussion.
What do people think about the Sunday at 8 time? Would another time be better?
Don't miss this chance to ask Steven Pro a question. He's on live tonight on my podcast.
Go to http://www.blogtalkradio.com/120gallons to listen live.
Call 347-215-7988 to ask him a question.
My understanding is that ornate angels are planktovores and eat from the water column...in this regard they are different than most angels. I do not have any other angels in the tank. They aren't that common, but are occasionally available. The male and female look much different.
Depends the route your taking, but there's Big Al's, The Hidden Reef (my personal favorite), pets plus and fish factory. The last three are within 5 minutes of each other near oxford valley.
Ok, let's see. Need a topic and a date.
Here's the partial schedule through January.
11/11 - Steven Pro will be the guest
12/9 - Adam Blundell will be the guest
1/16 - Scott Fellman will be the guest
We could do a rountable 12/2 or 12/16 or 1/6.
Any ideas for topic(s)?
Anyone from the club interested in participating in one/some/all of my podcasts on reefkeeping? No technical requirements other than ownership of a phone....
It's a lively conversation and a lot of fun.
Always looking for topic ideas too.
I'm trying to keep booking good guests for the podcast. If anyone has any suggestions, let me know.
So far I have
11/11 Steven Pro
scheduled.
I am finalizing a date with Adam Blundell.
I am also working with a friend to get Martin Moe.
Who else would you like to be able to ask questions of...
No prob on taping the speakers. Glad I could help. Not sure how good the audio is on the dvds from the video camera, but grab the mp3 of the audio recorded from the mic if they are too low.
Thanks, glad everyone enjoyed it. Hopefully the technical difficulties didn't scare too many folks away. I freaked out when just as I was about to call Eric, I noticed blogtalkradio's servers went down. Don't know why it was a suprise. Things like that always seem to happen to me.
But for the...
