Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Just a reminder for tonight at 8pm est. Eric Borneman will be on 120 gallons. Please call in and ask him a question.

The board and volunteers deserve kudos for the frag swap. The turnout couldn't have been better and from the looks of it everything went off without a hitch. Great speakers, great vendors, great people. Can't beat it. Out of curiosity what was the final headcount.
Here's a reefkeeping article. Couldn't find the aa one.

Should add, that I use ozone injected through my G3 skimmer and it has had extremely positive results on my tank so far. But like Phyl said you have to use it properly, be careful...
I'm going to assume that's an ozone generator. You really don't want to be adding ozone right into the tank. It needs to be injected into a protein skimmer or ozone reactor. It can be harmful if not lethal to your fish if the concentration gets high enough.
Eric Borneman is a brilliant scientist as well as an extremely knowledgeable hobbyist. He'll be back on the 120 Gallons podcast this Sunday 10/28 at 8 pm EST live! So after you recover from the frag swap on Saturday, and enjoy some football, why not come by and listen at...
Currently I gravity feed my Koralin calcium reactor, but want to switch to a pump to stop the issues with a bubble forming. Can anyone recommend a good pump for this purpose?
Pretty good for a first show. Noone called in to share their story, but to be honest I figured people would be just listening the first show. Only technical glitch was couldn't get one panelist on the show.
It's on the normal podcast feed now for anyone who wants to listen.
Next week 10/28 is...

We're going to be talking about the mistakes we've made along the journey of reefkeeping so others can learn from us.
Anyone have issues with humidity in their residence due to their reef keeping addiction, I mean hobby? How did you handle it? I live in a newer townhouse which is fairly air tight and hence the problem, plus with a large open sump in the basement, I can get enough humidity in my basement to...
Unforunately I have a lighthouse controller and didn't realize I had to choose either the ph or orp to be a controller and couldn't use both as a controller when I bought it. I guess I could do an extremely slow drip and watch the ph.
ph has never gone below 7.8 until today. I had thought ph and orp were inversely related, thought I read something to that effect.
I do run a calcium reactor (koralin). Alk is 2.6 meq/l, calcium is 350, nitrates <10 (water change du as of yesterday.
I've been contemplating dripping in kalk to...
I've been slowly raising my orp and tonight it was up to 365 and I noticed my ph has dropped below 7.8 to 7.66. I throttled the ozone back a little for now.
Any suggestions on raising the ph?
For those who are interested I just posted the latest episode of 120 Gallons which features an interview with Eric Borneman on coral breeding.
He'll be back on October 28th live at 8pm EST for anyone to listen and ask him questions.
I recently added ozone to my setup.
My question is do folks think it is possible for ozone to increase the clarity of the water such and extent to increase lighting effects where a coral might now be getting too much lighting? All my corals look better with ozone that without except one. I think...
