    Hippo Tang, not reef safe??????

Sam Had this happen to me...They're just hungry. Try feeding more frequently (not necessarily more food), add more veggie/spirulina foods to the diet AND place a clip with a little Nori in the tank between the longest interval between feedigs. Worked for me. Good Luck, Dom

Attention: Show us your FTS (Full Tank Shot, in case you don't know the term)...

Thanks Phyl...for both the compliment and the help. So-so photo taken with entry level Canon Digital just after the first lights came on. Plan to "study" the Photography Threads to learn more about Digital cameras and accessories as my 35mm SLR with all of its lenses seem to be dinosaurs...

Attention: Show us your FTS (Full Tank Shot, in case you don't know the term)...

Hi I'd like to post a picture of my tank, but need detailed instructions on how to do it. I have the photos stored as jpeg files on my computer. How do I get them into NJRC's USER Gallery? Next, how do I get them from the USER Gallery to this thread? Any help would be...

    chemi-pure

Erik I use it to help keep water clear as I like to sometimes feed phytoplankton which can slightly tint the water green. The CP and my skimmer help keep the water clear. Dom

    Humidity Issues

A fan that vents out of the house is best, but might involve "construction" work. Next to that, a de-humidifier will do. Just needs to be emptied often if humidity level is high. Dom

Why not get the kids involved!

John Placing other fish in with a Betta is chancey as the Betta's finnage is a magnet for other fish to "nip' at. Guppies and Platy types OK but Tiger Barbs, Danios probably not Dom.

Why not get the kids involved!

Nice Job John The rules are the same...change water periodically, clean the filters (and occasionally the gravel), don't overcrowd, don't overfeed and keep compatible animals. ;) Dom PS..I used to use the waste water from our RO system for water changes on the store's FW tanks. In the case of...

    JCurry's 500g System Design & Build

Good Luck with the project. I look foward to following its progress.. Just a couple of notes from my personal experiences 1.. My 135 reef is 24" high and working inside it was really easy. Then I added a canopy which, though it hid the lighting and enhanced the overall appearance beautifully...

    Ozone & Water Clarity

Garry, I am also a proponent of carbon usage and yes, I did place the Chemi Pure bags in my sump because at present "there ain't no place else to put it". I used to keep it in an old Eheim canister filter (and sometimes a hang-on filter) so I could access/change it easily and fairly frequently...
